John Morris

John Morris, President of  Community Asphalt

John Morris has been with Community Asphalt for 22 years, and was fundamental to the company’s growth over that period into regions beyond the Miami-Dade market. He sustains corporate management responsibility over four region offices and asphalt plants. He has been instrumental in establishing Community Asphalt as the premier FDOT design-build contractor in Florida, with a total of 27 successful design-build projects for a combined over $2 billion. Under Mr. Morris’ direction, Community Asphalt has successfully participated in three design, build and finance projects for FDOT including an 18-mile stretch of US-1 in the Keys, the first ever unsolicited proposal accepted by FDOT involving an innovative financing structure. Mr. Morris also serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Transportation Builders Association (Chairman-Elect 2015/16) and the Associated General Contractors of America-Florida East Coast Chapter.

Manuel Aguiar, Corporate Vice President & Chief Estimator of Community Asphalt

Manuel Aguiar has been with Community Asphalt for 19 years, playing a key role in setting the strategic direction of our organization and helping to guide the firm through a challenging period marked by steady growth. Mr. Aguiar has more than 28 years of experience in the roadway construction industry and with the Florida Department of Transportation in major construction projects as well as all aspects of the design-build process. His project experiences include heavy highway construction, asphalt paving, hot-mix production, underground utility installation and complete heavy civil site work preparation, as well as in the estimating and construction of local South Florida airport projects. Mr. Aguiar has been active in the Engineering Contractors Association of South Florida for 15 years, serving on the board of directors and as President.

Paul Suellentrop

Paul Suellentrop, Vice President of Community Asphalt, with the responsibility of General Manager for our Miami Operation

Paul Suellentrop has extensive experience in the Florida roadway construction business dating back to 1985 where he has directed numerous design-build and conventional projects. His greatest strengths are creativity, drive and leadership, and he thrives when dealing with challenges, particularly the everyday complexities of roadway construction. Mr. Suellentrop holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and is an active member in the Engineering Contractors Association, of which he is a past president, the Associated General Contractors of America and the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida.
